Lunar rock nut | After all these years here is an indication of a found piece of Challenger it would appear. |
randy | I don't see the connection. Am I missing something? |
capoetc | That looks like it could be a molten piece from ... just about anything. |
Rick Mulheirn | A case of misguided wishful thinking! |
Jim Behling | A reply from the seller to "How do you know it is from the shuttle?" Common knowledge on the space coast among the metal detector community also verified by NASA engineers from the Challenger. |
Rick Mulheirn | What about all the other exploding launch vehicles back in the day? Challenger was just one of many over the years most of which I don't suppose were salvaged. |
bklyn55 | It MUST be from Challenger. After all, it was verified by NASA engineers! |
Robert Pearlman | The seller ended the sale and has said he is contacting NASA's Apollo, Challenger, Columbia Lessons Learned Program at Kennedy Space Center for assistance. |
Jeff | Here's a new listing, this time from Columbia. |
Ken Havekotte | Even if genuine, and I am not at all saying it is, does the seller know that's it illegal to own and sell any debris from the Challenger/51L and Columbia/107 tragedies? |
oly | Looks like the remains of a beer can placed in a camp fire. Maybe the seller should look up the meaning of the word molten. |
Robert Pearlman | The second seller is apparently having issues canceling the auction, but has revised the listing: For some reason I can't remove this from eBay however it's no longer for sale, it will be turned over to NASA cause its illegal to have. |
